Deal or No Deal?

For someone who touts himself as the King of the Dealmakers, Trump sure seems to only be able to kill deals. His bestseller The Art Of The Deal may require a little rewrite.

Gym for Jim

I could be heading back to Middle School this week, of course except for the ones the judge has ordered me to stay 500 feet away from. You can come with, too. Meet me in Elkhart, Indiana on Thursday night! Elkhart is just a 2 hour drive east of Chicago by car, but at least 50 years behind Chicago in thought.

Trumpatized 2018 v2.0

About a month ago, I introduced you to the rap song that I thought would send me to the Grammy Awards to pick up some hardware for Best New Artist or Whitest New Artist, one of those two. Feel free to take a listen again to Trumpatized 2018 v1.0. Heck, I even picked out a rap name to use.

That has not worked out as planned. Nobody is interested and my wife refuses to call me by my rap name of J-Saggy. And then it (or my wife, I’m really not sure which) hit me. If v1.0 failed, it couldn’t be because of the content and brilliant lyrics. The reason had to be because a Canadian recorded it. This country is so intent on making America great again that new music coming from Canada will likely be ignored. There was only one solution …

Not Fake News, Just the Wrong News

The cable news stations are all over the story alleging that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly has been calling Donald Trump an idiot. That’s really not much of a story. The real story would be to find someone, anyone, part of the Trump administration who hasn’t called Trump an idiot. C’mon, who wants a Pulitzer? Find someone.

Phony Clouds

Donald Trump today on Fox & Friends …

“I have a phony cloud over my head that doesn’t exist.”

Priceless. Sounds like the problem is solved and there should be blue skies and clear sailing ahead.

Anytime Trump gets to speak off script for an extended period of time, you can be sure he will drop a gem or two.

Circle Back to Racism

I just love the circular logic in this Trump tweet …

Trump Tweet food stamps

So if we take away people’s food stamps and make participation in the program more difficult, less people use food stamps. Brilliant! I cannot dispute that logical argument that is nothing more than chasing your logical tail. However, I think it is a bit of a reach to say that A (taking away people’s food stamps) resulted in B (more employment). Maybe the last line should read … The American people are finally hungry!

I would prefer to see a similar tweet like this …

Steele Dossier Proven!

UK agent Christopher Steele’s famous salacious dossier has been pooh-poohed universally by Donald Trump and Republicans. One of the things critics point to in order to discredit the dossier is the story about the Russian prostitutes and the golden showers. But finally, we have visual proof of Trump’s depravity.

Whoopee Cushion – Free to a Good Home

Last night I attended the Kane County Democratic Convention. Yes, it was as staid as it sounds. I was ready for a rollicking good time at a convention with cigars, whoopee cushion, hand joy buzzer and hip flask. I was excited about using all of them, but I really wanted someone to shake my hand.

Bush – Cusack – Wonder – Garfunkel – Cetera

RIP Barbara Bush. When I hear liberals and conservatives alike celebrating her life and mourning her passing, I am certain she was a wonderful person. As First Lady and thereafter, she worked tirelessly to promote family literacy. Although there is some irony that the person living in the White House today doesn’t read anything, Barbara Bush and her Foundation for Family Literacy has helped millions.

I wanted to follow some of the news coverage last night including the news of Mrs. Bush’s passing, but there was this movie …

Can They Hear Me Now?

Every once in a while, we lose internet service. While waiting for internet to be restored, I do check available wireless networks to make sure the connection problem isn’t due to another reason. I normally see my wireless printer and our neighbor’s networks. And then I have started seeing this wireless network available lately …

Another Edition of … Random Thoughts

Random Thought 1

Anytime I get a slice of Swiss cheese in the package without any holes, I feel like a big winner.

Random Thought 2

Instead of saying “God bless you” or “Gesundheit” after someone sneezes, I am going to start saying “No collusion.”

No Secrets!

Donald Trump is a guy who has repeatedly claimed that he never would divulge his military strategy, I think mainly because he typically doesn’t have one. Now that bombing Syria looks like an option, Trump is only too willing to share that with the world …

Hair Raising Days

If I were Donald Trump, these last couple days would be terrifying. Perhaps some would even describe these days as hair raising.

OK, so that’s just ridiculous. Can I make a suggestion? This White House thing doesn’t seem to be working out. It’s only a matter of time before Trump is looking for a new gig. The band Flock of Seagulls is still touring. The front man and lead singer for FOS used to look like this …
