I saw the movie “Dunkirk” yesterday. It was an overall solid movie about the heartbreak of war and the triumph of the human spirit. I am embarrassed to write that going to the movie, I was not certain if it was about WW1 or WW2. In the USA, if history did not happen on American soil or involve Americans, then it is deemed relatively unimportant and actually becomes a bit hazy if it really happened at all. I was disappointed when I realized that the movie was about WW2. I have really had my fill of seeing Nazis in the White House these days. I do not need to see them in the movie theater, too. Fortunately, there is only one brief facial shot of Nazi soldiers right at the end of the movie, making for a poignant ending. Unfortunately, I see more Nazis on cable news every day. Alright, let’s get right to the White House Nazi rankings then …

I’m seriously trying to lose a few pounds these days. I weigh myself every morning, and I like to see progress. I have several theories that have resulted in a strategy I have concocted for weight loss that involves farting, or lack therof.
Today marks the day that I posted first to this blog 2 years ago. I’d like to think that I started this blog as an apolitical blog with lots of hilarious posts about meteor showers and bath towels. Yes, there were some of those, although hilarious may be a strong adjective to use, but my first 4 posts were actually bipartisan political posts covering Mike Huckabee, Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, and of course, Donald Trump who was a real joke back then. Some things never change. It wasn’t long before I published one of my all-time favorite Trump posts about illegal immigration. Ah, the good old days when Trump satire still worked.
Before this post devolves into a “best of” post, I want to impart unto/inflict onto my readers all the things I have learned about writing and blogging in these past 2 years.

I have a pond.
My nose is crooked because of the pond.
I still love my quiet pond place.
Am I crazy or did I just write some Haiku including a link to an older, but equally hilarious and actually quite graphic blog post?

This morning, the blithering and blathering idiots hosting Fox & Friends asked UN Ambassador Nikki Haley to comment on their Fox story reporting that spy satellites detected that North Korea is moving more missiles in place for testing. That sounds like pretty sensitive stuff. To her credit, Nikki Haley responded this way …
Although I love music, these are not Tom Petty thoughts. I wish. I’m afraid they are more Trump petty thoughts. Am I petty to be thrilled at the forecast today in Bedminster, NJ where Trump is vacationing?

While biking yesterday, I spotted the first grasshopper of the year sitting on the trail.

To me, seeing a grasshopper means that Fall is coming soon. Not this year though.

In exchange for enduring a 60ish degree day in early August yesterday, I demand a compensatory 80 degree day in late October. Works for me if it would fall on Halloween so I could wear an off-the-shoulder or bare midriff costume.

Yesterday, Donald Trump signed the first major piece of legislation passed in his first 6+ months in office. No, not healthcare. No, not infrastructure. No, not tax reform.
