Saturday Morning’s Alright for Fighting

“The time for small thinking is over. The time for trivial fights is behind us.” – Donald Trump in his recent address to Congress.

And then this morning …

Tweets, Taps & Ties, Oh My!

The Hirsute Orange Turd that the American Electorate left steaming on the lawn of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue just dropped a serious tweetstorm onto former President Obama …

Trump Droning On

Breaking News …

Donald Trump orders drone strikes against the NY Times and Washington Post.

Orange Is The New Syndrome

I had a routine physical yesterday, but it was hardly routine as I was reminded of the harsh reality that I will live the rest of my life with …

Healthcare is Hard

“I have to tell you, it’s an unbelievably complex subject. Nobody knew that health care could be so complicated.” – Donald Trump in a speech yesterday.

Nope, nobody on earth considered healthcare a complex issue, but after being told that it is, NOW WE DO. On this healthcare issue, Trump reminds me of the college student who doesn’t go to class all semester, but shows up for the final exam, and finds it to be difficult. Yes, that college student may have been me and the reason for the recurring dreams several decades later.

Trump is supposed to reveal details of his healthcare plan today when he addresses Congress. I expect it to be short on details, if any exist at all considering this “surprising” complexity of the whole healthcare issue. I would not be surprised if the basics of his plan could be summed up in this manner …

Thanks to Dr. Nick for putting it in a language even Trump can understand.

My Crappy Protest Sign

My family and I went to a pro-ACA rally/protest yesterday. My wife made pretty, patriotic signs for herself and our youngest child.

aca3

Beautiful. Patriotic. Inspiring. Anytime I look at it, I’m moved to suggest my wife quit her job so we can go back on ACA healthcare.

Here’s my crappy sign …

CPAC? See Terror!

Breaking News Alert!

The Department of Homeland Security has just issued a blockbuster report that shows that immigrants from the 7 nations affected by Trump’s Executive Order Muslim ban are less likely to commit an act of terror than CPAC attendees and especially CPAC guest speakers.

Another Edition of “Am I a Bad Guy?”

I play the “Am I a Bad Guy?” game a lot.

  • Am I a bad guy for taking the last of the (insert favorite food here) from the pantry or refrigerator?

  • Am I a bad guy for not paying my car insurance bills on time, waiting until I get a “last notice before cancellation” letter in the mail simply because I think rates are too high?

  • Part 1: Am I a bad guy for yelling at the dog who dropped a load in the house even though I know I should have taken him out hours ago? Part 2: Am I a bad guy for moving to another room in the house, pretending I don’t see the load, hoping my wife will see it and take care of it?

  • Am I a bad guy for not raking leaves in the fall and hoping a windy day will blow my yard’s leaves into a neighbor’s yard?

Sadly, I could go on and on with examples of this game I play. I’m now playing the game again, but this time YOUR life could depend upon my answer.

Deportation Transportation

The news from yesterday that Trump, Inc. had purchased the Trailways Bus Line was met with some confusion. Sure, bus travel is as bad of an experience as eating a Trump Steak, but the acquisition just didn’t seem to fit with the Trump brand. The shocking news that is breaking today now makes some sense of yesterday’s bus acquisition.

Less Government & Even Fewer Clothes

I try to create original posts for this blog. This one is not. However, I couldn’t quite believe what I was seeing when I happened to watch The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC last night. You know the liberal media, fake media, etc. are always playing fast and loose with the facts. So I fact-checked myself. It turns out that Team Trump is having some trouble filling government positions requiring Senate confirmation, but it is not because the Democrats are being obstructionists. Team Trump is simply not offering nominees.

Apostrophe Catastrophe

Donald Trump is making news on this Presidents Day already.

trump-tweet-presidents-day

Trump is probably too old to have gotten a participant trophy for soccer. They didn’t hand them out like diuretics at a nursing home back in the days when he was a wee lad. Now he wants his own trophe, or more correctly, his (apos)trophe. Wow, that is really a stretch, even for me.

Presidents Day? Nope, this day is not about a general milieu of presidents. This is about him. And isn’t General Milieu under consideration as National Security Advisor?

Presidents’ Day? Ah, the plural possessive form that literally nobody understands how to use properly, and certainly not Trump. Misusing an apostrophe? Trump says, “Your fired.”

President’s Day? He gets this. The day is his. Enjoy suckling at his presidential teat on President’s Day as the fake media writes that he has man boobs.

Enemy of the People

I decided to follow Trump’s lead on the media. In response to this real Trump tweet from yesterday …

I punched out our paperboy this morning. I figured he must be complicit with our enemy, delivering their fake news. That did not work out well. And is it really fair that unexpired, perfectly good coupons cannot be used to help make bail?

Dead Streaming

Trump actually tweeted this. This is not a fake or altered Trump tweet.

Since when did signing legislation to aid in polluting streams with coal mining waste become a good thing to promote about yourself?

Pressed for Answers

I was busy with business associates the past couple days, and I was surprised to hear from one colleague that Trump was having another press conference yesterday, the day after he just had a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. I figured that it would be as inconsequential as the Netanyahu presser with a couple softball questions and that would be it. I completely underestimated Trump’s willingness to put his mental illness on full display for the world to see.

I am still reeling from watching the press conference and then reading the transcript of this press conference. I can only imagine the concern mental health professionals would have that did the same. His opening diatribe gradually built through the subsequent questions from the media into full blown nonsensical gibberish. There are so many examples to which I can point, but I thought I would offer ten for your review and consideration that could be easily grabbed from the transcript. My editorial comments follow after his quotes.
