Kremlingate Special Counsel Robert Mueller just hired Michael Dreeben to join his investigative team, although his addition may signal the team turning from investigative to more prosecutorial now.
From the Washington Post, “Michael is the most brilliant and most knowledgeable federal criminal lawyer in America — period,” said Walter Dellinger, a law professor at Duke University School of Law and acting solicitor general for the 1996-1997 term of the Supreme Court.

The WaPo continues, “Dreeben is 1 of the top legal & appellate minds at DOJ in modern times,” former Manhattan U.S. attorney Preet Bharara tweeted after learning of Mueller’s recruitment of Dreeben.

I can understand the numerous other typos and grammatical errors scattered through the entirety of the statement. That happens a lot, especially to high school students writing papers for the very first time and to almost every one of my blog posts, although the high schoolers and I are not billing $1500 per hour. But in the first line that identifies who you are and what you do? Really? I now wonder if his first name is really Marc and not Mark or even Fred?
In the coming days, you will see a lot of Kasowitz’s mug in the press, on TV, etc. That’s been his bombastic style to date when representing Trump in the past. You may not see a lot of Michael Dreeben’s face, but take a look and remember it …
When you do see Dreeben’s face, he will likely not be smiling, and will likely be working hard to put people from the Predisent’s Team Treason in prison.
