Donald Trump deservedly received nothing but backlash for his racist attacks on federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel, so he’s trying a different tactic.
Before proceeding, allow me revise the previous sentence to read “… so he’s trying a different approach.” It just does not seem proper to use the word “tact” in any word in any sentence concerning Trump.
Anyway, Trump has shifted his attacks on Indiana-born Judge Curiel to the fact that the judge was well, Indiana-born. Indiana is an odd state with its split time zones and Amish, so Trump might just be on to something here. After gifting his adversaries with names like Lyin’ Ted and Crooked Hillary, I think it is just a matter of time before we hear Trump rage about Loser Hoosier Gonzo. Try saying that three times fast. I think Trump will as more attacks are bound to be launched as long as his self-proclaimed wildly successful, yet oddly now defunct Trump University’s reputation is being besmirched by facts.
LOL – One reason “tact” seems inappropriate is that it’s not the correct word in the first place. The axiom is to “try a different TACK”, not tact. Tack is a sailing term. It means to alter course in the short term, to discover and take advantage of more favorable winds.
This is one of those oft-misunderstood phrases that folks sometimes take “for granite” (for granted).

But then the joke doesn’t work. 😦 My goal is to entertain the masses (all 3 of my followers!), and if I have to take a bit of grammatical license, so be it. Hmmm, maybe I can fix it to still make the joke, but be grammatically correct.
