And My Follower Of The Year Is …

It has been just a few short months since I have started writing & blogging. I’ve had some hits along with plenty of swings & misses. For whatever reason, I have acquired some blog followers along the way. Don’t you have anything better to do like auditing grocery store receipts or weaving dryer lint into yarn? I felt there needed to be some reward for your unwarranted devotion and attention, so I am pleased to introduce the nominees for my first annual Follower of the Year award.

Monetary awards for the nominees and winner are as non-existent as money in my bank account. However, I will publicize your blog and provide links. Some of your stuff is pretty good.

My first ever follower automatically gets consideration as a nominee, and it happens to be my daughter who rarely reads my blog due to her schedule and general lack of interest. Before this award is tainted with accusations of nepotism (maybe too late!), I will note that this nomination is a hollow, perfunctory gesture that will undoubtedly lead to no prize or recognition, sort of just like what the winner should expect. She’s too busy to blog right now, but if you want to read some of her older stuff, try www.kaitlinnicole.com.

My next nominees are a pair of traveling lesbian comedians that can be found at www.wanderingwives.net. They don’t “like” my posts a lot or ever comment, but the combination of comedy, lesbianism & travel is too appealing not to receive a nomination. Well played ladies, good luck & travel safe.

Julius gets a nomination due to being one of my most frequent “likers.” He once “liked” three of my posts in one day, a modern era (before night-blogging) record for my blog. The idea that Julius likes a lot of my stuff leads me to believe that he is in need of help from mental health professionals, but not so fast! Julius offers an inspirational blog at www.dailyinspiration.me, chock full of inspirational quotes and thoughts to counter-balance the nonsense I emit into the internetsphere.

Attacking Donald Trump with haiku has earned Clyde Mohawk a nomination. To think that you have channeled your disgust with Donald Trump into haiku just blows my mind. Visit Clyde at www.clydemohawk.wordpress.com and enjoy some Trump-slamming haiku. Haiku on Clyde!

Jen Mac grabs the final nomination for Jim Flanigan Looks at the World 2015 Follower of the Year. I don’t hear much from Jen, but I like her sense of humor, dark and dry. Coincidentally, you can find her blogging at www.ilikemyhumordarkanddry.com. There, you can read about her farting in a recent post. I’m a sucker for a woman who admits to farting.

So there are the nominees:

  • Kaitlin
  • Funny, Traveling Lesbians
  • Julius
  • Clyde
  • Jen

Don’t be disappointed if you didn’t get nominated or win in 2015. 2016 is right around the corner. There, I see it! But you can’t get a nomination if you don’t actually follow me. Sure, there are plenty of reasons not to follow me, but wait until you see the trophy below. It should trigger a Pavlovian response to hit that “follow” icon.

The tension is palpable and approaching unbearable. And the award goes to …

Trophy 2015

Julius, congratulations and keep providing us with inspiration at www.dailyinspiration.me. If you ever get the idea that your positive thoughts of inspiration are not needed, just read my blog.
