Let’s face it. My recent attempt at cookies was a disaster and just a bit embarrassing. I found my opportunity for cookie redemption in the garbage, where I sometimes find a snack. My youngest daughter was supposed to build this house for Christmas.

Baking is Hard

As is typical of a teenager, my 15 year old daughter left a mess and headed to bed after she finished baking just enough chocolate chip cookies that she needed to take to school. I think she learned how to bake from watching The Muppets.

As I looked for a starting point to clean up, I saw she left batter. Well, baking cookies can’t be all that difficult, right? I may as well give it a go. This was representative of the result.

A Christmas Haul

Here we are on the fourth day of my Twelve Days of Blogging, and I experienced quite a haul yesterday. No, I didn’t get a lot of gifts. (Thanks for that lack of gifts, by the way) My haul involved literally hauling these five 4′ x 8′ sheets of drywall up a tricky flight of stairs with a couple tight turns at the bottom and top.

No, I didn’t do it alone. I assisted my brother-in-law who is doing our bathroom renovation & expansion. But then, I got the bright idea to haul these bad boys up the stairs … by myself.

Easter or Passover or Random Cookies?

My wife slightly overbaked some cookies that we were going to take for a family Easter gathering, so my daughter and I got to decorate those and keep them. Score! No, I did not add 5 minutes to her timer. In addition, my wife was thoughtful enough to bake the random dough shapes that were leftover after using the cookie cutter. I was thrilled to see this one.

No, the NJ does not stand for No Jesus in honor of the Easter story that says they found his tomb empty. It stands for something else.
