As dedicated followers of this blog (OK casual, but I’ll take what I can get), I will share with you my guaranteed, sure-fire system to win the billion dollar Powerball jackpot this week.
First, I actually plan to play the Powerball this Wednesday. Yes, I am a Powerball virgin. I do hope the 7-11 clerk is gentle. I figure that just by playing, I increase my odds 100%.
My next brilliant move is to play 2 tickets. Yes, you read that right, not 1 but 2 tickets. So you can take that 100% and double it to a 200% increase in odds of my winning.
Now here’s a secret part of the plan … I plan to play different numbers on the 2 tickets. Give me an extra 50% for that genius move, so I’m up to increasing my odds of winning by 250%.
I hear that the odds of winning Powerball are 292.1 million to 1. That looks daunting, but then you must apply the “new math” that Facebook sensation Philipe Andolini used in this recent post …
So using previously unknown rules of math like Philipe did to arrive at his answer, if I divide 292.2 by my 250%, I get 1.17 to 1 odds of winning. I like that math and those odds.
