I have found that the most popular blog posts I write involve food, travel, health & exercise. Everyone (including me!) is tired of political posts. We all know Trump is awful, and while you’ve been reading this sentence, he’s now done another terrible thing which is blah, blah, blah. I find that I need to write some political posts for personal cathartic reasons, and they barely get noticed … except for my post titled “It All Adds Up to the Mark of the Beast.” If you don’t recall it (And why would you? It was eminently forgettable), go ahead, click the link, and take a look. It’s number rubbish, because I’m a math geek, but I happened to notice a disturbing trend for that months-old post …

It All Adds Up to the Mark of the Beast
A very learned, scholarly friend sent this to me.

I summarily dismissed it as a clever meme, but utter nonsense. And then I took a closer look at the numbers using ancient secrets of numerology. My eyes were opened.

Bible Babble
This past Sunday, one of our church minister’s sermonized that children are a gift from God. I couldn’t believe I heard that, because normally I never hear any part of the sermon. It seems to have a verse about everything. For example, I was considering supporting Senator Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for President, but …
Timothy 2:11 “I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is to keep silent.”
Oh well, there are plenty of male candidates, so no worries.
I did check the Bible to see if children are truly a gift from God. Sure enough …
Psalm 127:3 “Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord.”
In the course of raising five children, I have often questioned if my kids are gifts, then where are the gift receipts?
Oh well, if those “gifts” don’t work out and you can’t find the gift receipts, there’s always this child-rearing/bashing tip …
Psalm 137:9 “May the Lord bless everyone who beats your children against the rocks!”
So I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.
Thoughts on God
If we are all made in God’s image, does that mean God farts?
If God farts, do the farts smell?
If God’s farts smell, do they smell bad?
I have a hard time believing that the Bible is the definitive word of God when questions like those are not answered therein.
