This will be an unusual blog post in that it won’t be funny.
Editor’s Note: Not unusual at all for this blog.
Anyway, I’m blogging today to promote the debut of Chicago Party Aunt on Netflix today. Here she is in all of her splendor.
Why am I promoting it? Well, the creator is Chris Witaske who was our neighbor when we lived 20 years in our old neighborhood in Saint Charles, Illinois. He grew up, moved to L.A. to seek fame and fortune, and now he has a Netflix animated series. Not bad. Here’s Chris telling a little about the origins of Chicago Party Aunt.
You can listen to the whole interview below.
In addition to wanting to promote the “hometown boy makes good” story, I like his parents. If Chris becomes a mega-star, he can care for his parents better in their golden years. They are nice folks and were excellent neighbors of ours for 20 years. When I knocked on their door earlier this year to see if I could put a campaign sign in their yard, they told me I could plant all I wanted. I figured they would be good folks for a Democrat like me to contact since this was their shrine to Joe Biden in 2020.
I have no idea if Chicago Party Aunt will be a hit animated series on Netflix or not, but if it is anything like the Twitter account, it should be very funny and Chicagoish. Follow on Twitter @ChiPartyAunt.
In honor of Chicago Party Aunt’s debut, I’ll be heading over by ‘dere to Soldiers Field this Sunday to watch Da’ Bears and see the quarterbacks they got to replace that Mike Trubinski guy. Go Bears and good luck, Chris.
