I hate to tell you this, but there’s another election just around the corner, and I’m partially to blame. I may have mentioned that I’m running in a local election in April for St. Charles Township Trustee. I will be a longshot to unseat deeply-entrenched incumbents. The League of Women Voters is giving me a chance to make an impact and state my case in mid-March at a candidate forum. I’m hoping refreshments are served.
But there has been a huge win for me already. Before I tell you what that is, take a look at this digital door hanger we designed featuring a new pic of me …
Now all we need to find are some digital doors to hang it on. The real win for me to date is that pic makes it look like I have a lot more hair than I actually do. I’m thrilled!
So, how can two old white guys win the election? Obviously, get permission from Bachman Turner Overdrive to use their songs to promote the Bachman Flanigan Election Drive. I know people in the music biz. (Editor’s Note: He knows people who sing and play guitar to varying degrees of proficiency.) I can get them to record campaign songs to the tunes of BTO like …
- Takin’ Care of (Township) Business
- You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet (until you vote for Will & Jim)
- Let It Ride (on beautiful Township roads thanks to the oversight of Will & Jim)
I know. Needs some work. As do the Township roads, and Will & Jim are just the guys to blah, blah, blah. You can tell I’m starting to gear up into campaign mode. I already have my concession speech written!
