I used this opportunity as a parental teaching moment and suggested to my daughter that they may be criminals doing their community service as punishment for their crimes.
Except, they looked more like this …
My daughter observed that they looked more like scouts than criminals.
I was quick to point out that the two may not be exclusionary, and she should not jump to an illogical conclusion as she had. Perhaps they are indeed scouts, but bad seeds that have gone rogue, committing a spree of crimes against the state and humanity, and are now relegated to doing community service road clean-up as punishment for their heinous crimes and actions.
My daughter is now convinced more than ever that I am an idiot.
